Fujikawa Kayu III as Kiyonosuke's Wife, 1851 - Interesting kabuki scene of Fujikawa Kayu III as Kiyonosuke's wife, cowering behind her raised sleeve, her outer robe trailing behind her. She wears an intricately patterned blue and white tie-dyed kimono decorated with wheels over a red under robe, tied with a black obi. The room opens onto a view of a garden filled with autumn grasses and blossoms. A rolled up blind frames the scene above, with a poem slip hanging from a bell blowing in the breeze at upper right. An expressive figure.
