Kataoka Nizaemon VIII as Konoshita Kisayoshi, 1862 - Strange kabuki scene featuring Kataoka Nizaemon VIII as the samurai Konoshita Kisayoshi, holding a young boy beneath water rubbing out of a bamboo pipe. The poor child squirms about as the water rushes over him, Kisayoshi frowning worriedly. He wears a boldly patterned kamishimo, the long legs trailing beneath his feet. An unusual subject.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Small losses at corners, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and spots. Please see photos for details.
