Cherry Trees in Full Bloom at Arashiyama - Beautiful Hiroshige landscape print from his famous places in Kyoto series. Two boatmen pole a raft along the river, a wisp of smoke from a fire sheltered beneath a straw roof rising up into the sky. At left, a few farmers and pedestrians walk along the shore, two of them carrying large baskets full of greenery on their backs. Blossoming cherry trees dot the embankment, and delicate petals drift down over the scene. A lovely design with fine bokashi shading in the water. Considered by many to be the best image in this series.
