One Hundred Lightly-colored Flowers - Charming design from a floral series by Tanaka Kichinosuke titled "One Hundred Lightly-colored Flowers." Totaling 100 woodblocks, the series was published by Happodo in 1964 - 1965 in two volumes of 50 prints each, one for spring and summer, and one for autumn and winter. These attractive modern images emphasize calligraphic brushwork and an interesting use of negative space to creating striking designs, with a spare, Zen-like quality. Some featuring subtle mica backgrounds or a scattering of metallic gold flecks. Printed on heavy paper with a label on the reverse featuring the artist's name, series title, and name of the subject in Japanese (see example below). A nice choice for display, either singly or in groups.

Artist - Tanaka Kichinosuke (1897 - ?)

Image Size - 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Some prints have a couple small spots. Please see photos for details. Generally in nice condition overall.
