Ichikawa Danjuro as Hachiro Tametomo, 1884

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro as the famous Minamoto archer Hachiro Tametomo. He wears in the tall grass aside a stone marker with a figure on it, looking down over his shoulder with a sober expression. He carries his bow in one hand and a couple of arrows in the other, wearing a straw raincoat over a blue kimono decorated with the paulownia crest of the Minamoto tucked into pants, and armor. An interesting setting.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 8 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with stiff paper. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, wrinkling at side. Please see photos for details.
