Nakamura Shikan as Courtesan Watching a Spider - Terrific kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as a courtesan, smiling as she looks up at a large spider hanging above her head. She wears a blue kimono patterned with leaves caught in a spider web, tied with a pink obi that reverses to light blue. Her hair is adorned with many hairpins on the top of her head, the longer hair falling over her shoulders. An intriguing supernatural subject, detailed with fine line work in the hair.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Small losses at edges, wormholes throughout, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
