From an untitled series of chuban kabuki prints

Chuban Kabuki Scenes - Handsome design from an untitled 1851 - 1852 Toyokuni III series featuring two chuban kabuki scenes per page. These attractive designs feature expressive figures in nicely detailed settings, each character identified by a name cartouche. Some include a title for the scene, but not the play that the scene comes from. We have only seen a couple of prints from this series before. A rare uncut page and a nice for a collector.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - Each image 6 7/8" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Separation at ends of horizontal centerfold, some prints have thinning along fold or a few holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing, some prints have rubbing at edges or stains. Please see photos for details.
