Commoner Tugging on a Beauty's Obi, 1865

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a commoner tugging on a beauty's obi, frowning slightly as he looks at a couple sitting in the room before him. The man looks back at the commoner with a worried expression while his companion adjusts her hairstyle, the pair visible through the wooden window grid. At left, the beauty turns her head away, watching the commoner warily out of the corners of her eyes, one hand keeping hold of her obi. A view of the water can be seen beyond the grassy hill behind her, with a lumberyard visible at upper right. Nice expressive figures in a handsomely detailed setting.
