Series; A Contest of the Top of the Shin Yoshiwara
Courtesan with a Lion Kimono, circa 1828 - 1832 - Lovely portrait of a courtesan in the Shin Yoshiwara, pausing beside a large lantern beneath a blossoming cherry tree. She wears a striking black outer kimono patterned with lions and bordered with a green floral print over a red under robe, tied with a red obi decorated with gourds and leaves. A classic early Edo beauty design from a rarely seen series by Kuniyasu.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Slight thinning along vertical fold at side, repaired. Toning, slight soiling and creasing, slight paper remnant at side. Please see photos for details.
