First Horse Day - Interesting scene of actors gathering before a special performance of the New Year on the "First Horse" day of the second month. At right, the warrior monk Benkei carries a temple bell over his shoulder, while the red-faced demon in front of him has been vanquished by Aotake Goro, the character carrying a giant arrow. At left, a yakko or footman carries a fringed standard, his rank easily identifiable from his striped collars. Nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small loss at corner, small hole, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a couple small stains and wrinkles. Please see photos for details.
