Fuji from the Tea Plantation of Katakura in Suruga Province Postcard from the A. Colburn Company, Tea Importers, circa 1900 - Charming circa 1900 postcard featuring a woodblock reprint of Hokusai's view of a tea plantation in Suruga. The card was issued by the A. Colburn Company of Philadelphia, compliments of Formosa Oolong Tea. Arthur T. Colburn founded a spice and tea importing business in Philadelphia in 1857, later opening a branch in Daitotei, Formosa (Taiwan). Tragically, Colburn and two of his daughters died in a yachting accident in Long Island Sound in 1901. At the time of his death, his company was one of the largest tea and spice importers in the United States. An interesting advertising collectible, published by Hakubunkwan of Tokyo.
