Segawa of the Matsubaya with Kamuro Sasano and Takeno - Beautiful portrait of the courtesan Segawa of the Matsubaya enjoying a stroll with her young kamuro or apprentices Sasano and Takeno. Her red kimono is bordered with irises, tied with a green and white brocade obi. Her attendants wear matching pink kimono with the same floral border, their sleeves trimmed with colorful ribbons. Curtains framing a tea stall hang overhead, with the edge of a bench visible at left and a barrel stacked with pails of water for fighting fires at right. Lovely color and detail.
