Picture Album of the Peaceful Capital - Charming design from the series "Picture Album of the Peaceful Capital" (Yofu gajo), which features landscape views of Kyoto and the surrounding area. Several different artists contributed to the series, including Takeuchi Seiho, Taniguchi Kokyo, Kikuchi Hobun, and Yamamoto Shunkyo. Published by Unsodo in three volumes in 1897, these attractive designs have a painterly appearance with lively calligraphic line work and soft colors. A nice choice to collect or display.
