Evening Outing in Autumn - Charming scene of beauties enjoying an evening outing autumn. The women in the center relax on a platform around dishes of food and a kettle of sake, one holding a shamisen while another smokes a slender pipe. At left, a beauty eyes a cricket on a stalk of grass, ready to capture it for her insect cage. At far left, a mother crouches beside her young son at the edge of a river. A full moon can be seen at upper left, with a line of geese in silhouette against the darkening sky. A lovely triptych, rarely seen in reprint.

Woodblock reprints - In the 20th century, artists and publishers collaborated to recreate famous woodblock prints for interested Japanese collectors and Westerners looking for rare designs. New blocks were made, and the prints were painstakingly printed by artisan printers in the same method as the 19th century originals - one block for each color. Woodblock reprints were an opportunity to collect and enjoy a famous design at a small fraction of the price of an original. They still are today.
