Mapwing by Masaki Yoshida (born 1947)

Original Masaki Yoshida (born 1947) Japanese Woodblock Print
Mapwing

Comments - Handsome contemporary design by Masaki Yoshida from a series of butterflies. These attractive images feature simplified and stylized shapes that create interesting, almost abstract patterns in a modern take on the traditional Japanese kacho-e or birds and flowers genre. Each print is signed M. Yoshida, titled in kanji, and numbered in pencil in the bottom margin. The first time we've seen these butterfly designs outside Japan. A nice choice to collect or display.

Numbered - 41/50

Artist - Masaki Yoshida (born 1947)

Image Size - 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Some prints have impressions from printing blocks in margins or small creases at corners. Please see photos for details. Otherwise excellent condition.
