Koryusai (1735 - 1790) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Musicians Pillar Print

Comments - Lovely Koryusai pillar print of two young musicians strolling under a willow tree. The beauty at left strums a shamisen with a plectrum, while her companion plays a kokyu, an instrument similar to a shamisen but played upright with a bow. Both wear layers of colorful kimono in delicate patterned, some of the designs detailed with embossing, and woven straw hats. A charming design with attractive color, one we've never had in reprint before. Would make a beautiful framed display.

Artist - Koryusai (1735 - 1790)

Image Size - 26 5/8" x 6 1/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Light crease at center. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
