Black Peony by Gyoshu Hayami (1894 - 1935)

Original Gyoshu Hayami (1894 - 1935) Japanese Woodblock Print
Black Peony

Comments - Striking image of a rare black peony, with a large blossom atop a slender stem, surrounded by foliage with a bud just beginning to open below. Beautiful shading on the petals and leaves adds dimension, with shimmering gold mica on the stamens. A large format woodblock that would make a handsome and unusual display.
