Bando Hikosaburo V as Samanosuke, 1862 - Great kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo as the samurai Samanosuke in the play "Wakaki no hana shiki no furigoto," drawing his sword as he stares ahead with a sinister frown while a beauty recoils before him. He wears a black kamishimo over a light orange kimono patterned with yellow and white squares, his thick hair pulled back into a bushy ponytail. A nice expressive figure. Includes embossing on the white trim of the beauty's kimono and burnishing on the black kamishimo.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Loss at corner, a few holes, repaired. Toning, soiling, wrinkling at edges, a few marks. Please see photos for details.
