A Folding Book of Full-color Woodblock Prints - This design comes from an 1898 series of selected designs featuring famous figures from Japan's history and mythology. The series compiles some of the best images from a variety series by several Meiji era artists, including works by Gekko, Kiyochika, and Shuntei Miyagawa. These handsome subjects range from the earliest emperors to legendary warriors and heroes, noblemen, and beauties. Beautifully and realistically drawn with expressive figures and fine detail, these great images present a wonderful record of Japan's history.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight thinning and small losses at edge, slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few spots and marks. Please see photos for details.
