Yaoya Oshichi and Kosho Kichiza, 1852

Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait of the young beauty Yaoya Oshichi and the samurai Kosho Kichiza. Oshichi is in love with Kichiza, but she is already engaged to a man of her family's choice. Here, she looks up with a sweet smile, holding her sleeve to her chin, dressed in a blue robe with red blossoms. Kichiza looks down at her with a slight smile, a pail of chrysanthemums in his hand. He wears a black coat over a blue kimono tucked into striped pants. Nice expressive figures.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9"

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Creasing, a couple marks. Please see photos for details.
