Young Boy Tugging on a Sash, 1854

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a young boy tugging on the end of a purple sash draped over one shoulder. He looks up with a slight smile as he dances on the grassy embankment of the river, hopping on one foot. Lumberyards and buildings line the opposite shore beneath the softly shaded evening sky. A circular inset at upper left shows a man with a worried frown on his face. An expressive figure in an attractive setting. Includes a dusting of mica across the top of the sky.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 5/8" + top margin as shown
