Beauties on a Verandah, 1865

Comments - Interesting scene of two beauties on a verandah, the woman at lower left bowing respectfully as she greets a guest. Her blue kimono features an intricate patter of crossed scrolls and circular motifs. The young woman behind her serves as a page, holding a samurai's sword upright and smiling happily as she looks over her shoulder. At upper left, pine trees can be seen against the night sky. An attractive design, nicely detailed.

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4" + top margin as shown
