Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Sumida River in Snow - Lovely Hiroshige triptych showing beauties in the snow along the Sumida River. In the center, two women share an umbrella as they walk along the dock, a smiling beauty waiting for them in a pleasure boat at right. Snow falls gently through the sky and a couple of birds tale flight in the distance at left. A beautiful design with fine detail in the kimono fabrics and soft bokashi shading in the water and sky. Seldom seen in reprint.
