Kataoka Nizaemon as Shindo Saemon and Bando Hikosaburo as Kuwabara Jonosuke, 1861 - Handsome kabuki double portrait of Kataoka Nizaemon as Shindo Saemon and Bando Hikosaburo as Kuwabara Jonosuke. At top, the white-haired Saemon draws with sword with a worried frown. He wears golden yellow and white kimono with a bold geometric design. Below, Jonosuke watches him suspiciously out of the corners of his eyes. He wears a blue vest patterned with blossoms and leaves over a red kimono. Nice large expressive figures set off by a deep blue sky, detailed with embossing on the white hair.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Paper remnant on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Small loss, a couple small holes, repaired. Wrinkling and rippling at edges, vertical creases, slight soiling, a few marks. Please see photos for details.
