Ancient Court Wagon for Lords

Kyoto Hanga-in - Founded in 1935, Kyoto Hanga-in produced high quality reprints of works by classic ukiyo-e artists like Hiroshige, Hokusai, Harunobu, Utamaro, and Sharaku, along with shin-hanga prints by artists such as Tsuchiya Koitsu, Bakufu Ohno, and Gihachiro Okuyama.

Comments - Handsome depiction of a Heian era court wagon for lords. The elegant carriage features blinds that can be rolled up, with stylized flowers and square motifs decorating the sides. Flowering shrubs and plants grow in the grass along the bottom, with bamboo in the background at left. A charming design, beautifully colored and detailed. A companion to the "Ancient Court Wagon for Ladies."
