Kirino Toshiaki, 1877 - Handsome portrait of the rebel samurai Kirino Toshiaki, who took part in the Satsuma Rebellion against the Meiji Imperial Army. He gallops ahead on horseback, raising his sword high with a determined expression on his face. He wears a red vest over his armor and a purple kimono tucked into pants, the fabric trailing in the wind behind him. A lively image from this historic conflict.
