Comments - Fantastic image depicting vehicles a variety of vehicles at Shinagawa, with the Yoshida Bridge at upper right. At lower right, a Chinese man drives a wagon filled with foreigners, raising a whip above his head as his team trots along. Another horse-drawn wagon can be seen at upper left, sharing the road with many different rickshaws. A strange contraption at upper right near the base of the bridge appears to be an early steam-engine form of car driven by foreigners, with smoke coming from a stack. Ships dot the harbor beyond. A fascinating look at modern transportation. A great subject for a student of history.
