Beauty at Ryogoku

Beauty at Ryogoku - Lovely original Eisen woodblock of a young beauty standing on board the deck of a pleasure boat. She steadies herself by holding onto a nearby post, teetering on her tall wooden geta sandals. Ryogoku Bridge arches across the background and the river is crowded with other pleasure boats, their visitors seeking relief from the warm summer weather. A classic Edo era beauty subject.
