Fukiage Garden Suspension Bridge, 1879

Comments - Handsome scene of court beauties strolling across the suspension bridge in the Fukiage Garden at the Imperial Palace. At bottom center, a lady-in-waiting looks over the cable of the suspension bridge at the water below. Her two companions smile down at her, one holding an umbrella. Each wears a colorful kimono over a white under robe tucked into red pants. Blossoming cherry trees frame the scene. A charming design, nicely detailed with embossing on the white kimono collars and the cherry blossoms.
