Pigeon and Chick

Series; Kazan's Picture Album (Kazan gafu)

Kazan's Picture Album - Watanabe Kazan was a samurai and a painter during the Edo era. First published in two volumes by Unsodo in 1911, "Kazan's Picture Album" (Kazan gafu) features woodblocks based on the artist's paintings. These nature prints encompass a range of subjects, including birds, flowers, plants, and sea life. Rendered in a loose style, these handsome designs capture the immediacy and fluid brushwork of the original paintings. An attractive series. The prints in this group come from a later edition by Unsodo.
