Ichikawa Kodanji as Yamato Bashi and Kunimatsu Ichinosuke as His Son, 1863

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of Ichikawa Kodanji as Yamato Bashi and Kunimatsu Ichinosuke as his son. Bashi cradles an infant to his chest, the child tucked inside his blue plaid kimono. His hair is pulled back into a slender topknot, a dotted cloth draped over one shoulder. He stares down at his son with an angry grimace as the boy reaches towards him. An expressive figure, with soft shading in the background.
