Series; Six Jewel Rivers in the Provinces

The Noda Jewel River in Mutsu Province, 1863 - Lovely view of a beauty and her traveling companion stopping on the banks of the Noda River in Mutsu, one of the famous Six Jewel Rivers of Japan. She lifts the cloth draped over her head for a better look as a flock of plovers takes off from the water, their gray figures flying high into the sky. A large pine tree gracefully frames the scene. An attractive design with soft shading in the water and sky. A rarely seen Hiroshige II series.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. A couple small tears and losses at edges, a few wormholes, repaired. Creasing throughout, slight toning and soiling, stain at edge. Please see photos for details.
