Comments - Charming scene of three of Japan's famous Seven Lucky Gods relaxing in a teahouse. At left, the Goddess Benzaiten plays a lute. At bottom, Fukurokuju rests his elongated forehead on the lap of Bishamonten, the patron of warriors. Just behind him, a waitress carries in a red tray laden with food, including what looks like a plate of sushi. Shimenawa, ropes used for ritual purification and to denote a sacred space, run along the top of the wall. An intriguing image.
