Scene from Kotoba no hana momiji no sakari, 1849

Comments - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Kotoba no hana momiji no sakari" of Hantoki Kurobei angrily raising a pipe above his head, a scowl on his face. With his other hand he tucks up the back of his striped kimono. Behind him, his sister, the beauty Koito, looks over her shoulder with a sly grin, the long sleeves of her robe trailing on the floor around her. From left, the actors are Seki Sanjuro and Bando Shuka I. Nice expressive figures in a well-detailed interior setting.
