Rinpa and Kano School Masterworks - Handsome print from a limited edition series published by Tanseisha of fifteen masterworks from the historic Rinpa and Kano schools of painting. These beautiful large format woodblocks faithfully capture the elegance of the original paintings. Subjects include classic landscapes and scholars rendered with fluid brushwork and minimal color, along with designs of birds, blossoms, and deities featuring simplified compositions and decorative patterning. Many include deluxe publishing techniuqes such as shimmering mica backgrounds simulating gold leaf. The edition size varies by subject, from 50 to 120 prints per design (see edition size below). These fantastic designs are wonderful examples from the most influential school of painting in Japanese history. A great choice for display.
