Watching Koi, 1890

Comments - Charming scene of upper-class women enjoying the cool evening air in a mansion with a bridge over a large pond. In the center, a mother holds back her excited child, who leans over to try to reach the koi swimming below them. Inside the room at left, two women play a game of go while a third watches. Another beauty at the foot of the bridge holds a tray full of sweets. A lovely design with an interesting composition, beautifully colored and detailed.
