Ichikawa Danjuro as Kato Kiyomasa, 1899 - Striking kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro as the great warrior Kato Kiyomasa, looking to the side as he holds a pole arm against his shoulder. He wears a fine suit of armor over a brown brocade robe, and a helmet topped with horns and a court cap. The tip of the weapon and the top of the cap rise above the light blue border, adding a sense of dimension. A bold, large figure, detailed with metallic pigment that has oxidized to a dark tone on the blade and the cap.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Toning, slight soiling and curling, small marks, offsetting from metallic pigment. Please see photos for details.
