Arashi Rikan III as the Monkey Trainer Owasa, 1854 - Interesting kabuki portrait of Arashi Rikan III as the monkey trainer Owasa. She kneels beside a low folding screen decorated with woodblock prints, a slender bamboo pole in one hand and the animal's leash in the other. Dressed in a red tie-dyed kimono, the monkey dances about at center left. Curtains patterned with maple leaves hang in the doorway beyond. Nice detail in the interior setting.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Large loss at corner, smaller losses at edges, repaired. Creasing throughout, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
