Kintaro Sitting on a Deer, 1894 - Handsome scene of the young boy Kintaro sitting comfortably on a large spotted deer as a monkey hands him a branch laden with bright oranges. Known for his amazing strength, Kintaro was raised on Mt. Ashigara by the mountain woman Yamauba, and became friends with the animals there. He wears a purple kimono patterned with feathers, his feet bare. Behind him, a waterfall flows over a high mountain in the background. An interesting image from Japanese folklore.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Tiny tear at edge, repaired. Slight toning, creasing, soiling, a few small stains. Please see photos for details.
