Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Eight Views of the Sumida River: Twilight Snow at Mimeguri - Beautiful winter scene of the Mimeguri embankment along the Sumida River in Edo. The stone torii gate at left leads to a pathway flanked with stone lanterns and pine trees, with red temple buildings nestled among the trees at right. The deep blue water contrasts nicely with the white snow and gray sky. A handsome landscape with fine bokashi shading, rarely seen in reprint.
