Hiroshige (1797 - 1858) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Eitai Bridge and Fishing Boats off Tsukuda Island

Series; Famous Places in Edo

Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Eitai Bridge and Fishing Boats off Tsukuda Island - Lovely, peaceful view of boats anchored for the night off Tsukuda Island. Pedestrians cross the wooden Eitai Bridge in the foreground, and the fires of small fishing boats can be seen along the horizon at left. Golden clouds drift across the scene and a full moon glows softly overhead. Beautiful shading in the sky and deep blue water. A great design, rarely seen in reprint.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 8 3/4" x 13 7/8" + margins as shown
