Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Comments - Charming portrait of a beauty as a shirabyoshi dancer, gracefully lifting her foot as she performs onstage. She wears an orange outer kimono patterned with cranes over a pink floral under robe, a tall black court cap tied under her chin with a cord. The backdrop features pine trees above low clouds. An attractive image rarely seen in reprint.
