Series; One-to-One Combats at the Great Battle of Kawanakajima

Koyamada Hyoenojo versus Nagao Bitchu no kami, 1857 - Incredible scene of Koyamada Hyoenojo and Nagao Bitchu no kami fighting during the Battle of Kawanakajima. The pair is locked in combat, their faces almost touching, with Hyoenojo grabbing the white sash around his enemy's waist. Hyoenojo wears an impressive battle helmet topped with a golden peacock. The sashimono or personal standard of Nagao Bitchu no kami flies above his back, displaying a wand of folded bundles of paper used for Shinto purification rites, and topped with golden feathers. Abandoned weapons rest on the stony ground, and the battle continues in the background with a monk at left charging at another warrior. A bold design with fantastic detail in the armor and weapon.
