Comments - Interesting scene of a daimyo's procession at Arai, one of the stations on the famous Tokaido Road. Samurai bow respectfully in a rows before a building as the procession heads for a gate at lower left. At upper right, pine trees and a large lantern atop a stone base frame a view of the water, and cranes fly through the sky at upper left. Clouds shaded with yellow and violet drift across the scene. A handsome design with an unusual perspective.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 19 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels. Vertical folds. Small losses and thinning at edges, holes, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, slight toning and soiling, rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
