Gathering Shellfish at Low Tide at Susaki, circa 1832 - 1834 - Terrific view of people gathering shellfish at low tide at Susaki. Beauties, men, and young children wade in the water in the foreground, some carrying baskets of shellfish. Visitors stroll along the embankment at left, stopping for refreshments at a tea stand overlooking the sea. An attractive composition with soft shading in the water and sky.
