A Fine Tokyo Reprint Collection

Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Beauty on a Verandah Watching Geese - Attractive scene of a beauty standing in the doorway to a verandah, watching a flock of geese flying through the sky. The balcony over looks a view of the river dotted with fish, with the masts of sailing ships rising above the trees at center left. Beautiful embossed detail on the obi and the diamond patterned sliding panel inside the room, and fine line work in the architectural setting. A lovely design we haven't seen in reprint before.

Artist - Harunobu (1724 - 1770)

Image Size - 10 3/4" x 8 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Excellent overall with no issues to report.
