Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.
Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.
Comments - Attractive design of a beauty with an umbrella out for a stroll. Her kimono features a bold design with black at the shoulder above blossoming daffodils, bordered with interlocking circles in a variety of colors, tied with a plaid obi. The folds of the kimono are embossed lines in the black areas, and the umbrella is covered with metallic particles. A handsome image with graphic appeal. Printed on tan paper to simulate an aged appearance.
