New Play at the Kabukiza: Imoseyama Onna Teikin, 1899 - Great scene from the play "Imoseyama Onna Teikin" at the Kabukiza or Kabuki Theater of Onoe Kikugoro as the samurai Fukashichi and Ichikawa Danjuro as the evil daimyo Iruka. At left, the warrior throws one hand up above his head while he holds a flute in the other, grimacing angrily. He wears a striking kimono with a dragon over the shoulders. Iruka watches him with a frown, his outer coat decorated with a rooster with long colorful tailfeathers. Nice large expressive figures, set off by a deep blue background, nicely detailed with embossing on Iruka's white collar.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels, backed with paper. Ink bleeding, curling, slight soiling and offsetting. Please see photos for details.
