The Old Warrior Tomobayashi Rokuro Mitsuhira, 1888 - Handsome portrait of the elderly warrior Tomobayashi Rokuro Mitsuhira in the countryside. He grips a spear as he looks over his shoulder, a white sash tied around his forehead. He wears a suit of armor over a blue kimono tucked into patterned pants, his swords at his side and his feet bare. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has this image in its collection. A nicely detailed design with an attractive landscape setting and soft shading, and burnishing on the armor.
