Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait Soroku, the proprietor of the Daikokuya brothel. He stares ahead with an angry frown, holding a pipe in one hand and carrying a wooden container with a tobacco set and several letters in the other. His striped kimono is trimmed with a floral motif, worn over a red under robe. Rust colored curtains patterned with writing hang behind the figure at right. Nicely detailed.
