Daikokuya Soroku, 1853

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait Soroku, the proprietor of the Daikokuya brothel. He stares ahead with an angry frown, holding a pipe in one hand and carrying a wooden container with a tobacco set and several letters in the other. His striped kimono is trimmed with a floral motif, worn over a red under robe. Rust colored curtains patterned with writing hang behind the figure at right. Nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
